ANNIVERSARY BOOKLET - TO BE PRESENTED ON A PRESS CONFERENCE June 4th

4 pm. Place: Nobel Peacecenter, Rådhusplassen Oslo

Three of the laureates, Göran Persson (Sweden), Nnimmo Bassey (Nigeria) and Sheri Liao (China), will togehter with Sophie Foundation Chair Gunhild Ørstavik, present the 10-year Anniversary booklet on a press conference at the Nobel Peace Prize Center.

PRIZE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY DEBATE: RECLAIMING THE FUTURE: From know how – to do now

June 5th, 10:30 am

Place: Gamle Logen, Grev Wedels plass 2, Oslo

The Sophie laureates meets for a debate about the world’s most important environmental challenges. UNEP Director, Mr. Achim Steiner, will also participate, as will Norwegian Minister of Development, Mr. Erik Solheim. A message from the laureates will be handed over to the G8-meeting, starting in Bonn the day after the Sophie Prize debate. (to be produced for Norwegian and international TV)

The debate is arranged in cooperation with the Norwegian Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Norway is hosting the International World Environment Day 2007, titled "MELTING ICE - a hot topic". In cooperation with UNEP there will be several arrangements in Norway during the first week of June, and our 10th anniversary, is one of them. SOPHIE PRIZE CEREMONY,

June 5th, 3:00 pm

Place: Gamle Logen, Grev Wedels plass 2, Oslo.

An official Prize Ceremony to honour the Sophie Prize winner of 2007 – Former Prime Minister of Sweden, Mr. Göran Persson. All former laureates will attend the Ceremony. The Norwegian Minister of Environment, Ms. Helen Bjørnøy, will hand over the Prize.
